Bakeri (Greenpoint)

Bakeri has often been touted as Brooklyn's best European-style eatery, and with two outposts—one in Williamsburg, one in Greenpoint—that each have their own unique character, visitors can now enjoy twice the sweet and savory offerings amid the eclectic interiors that are arguably some of the most Instagrammed spots in the borough.

Bakeri's Greenpoint location is perhaps best known for its signature floral wall which is the creation of French designer, Nathalie Lété. While patrons often vie for the cozy two-top surrounded by blooms just inside the entrance, it's just as delightful to sit at the back counter and watch the bakers in the open kitchen while sipping a latte and noshing on the fruits of their labor. Every inch of the space is warm, inviting, and well thought-out—and the entire experience is a real treat for all ages (and all senses)!

Favorite things to order (with kids):

  1. Avocado tartine with lemon, cumin, olive oil and grey sea salt
  2. Biscuit of the day with scrambled eggs and cheese
  3. Julieflower smoothie with banana, kale, cashews, dates, and ginger
  4. Chocolate chip, rosemary, and sea salt cookie

Explore Together | Apple Picking

The holidays are nearly here, and whenever September comes to a close, it makes my inner 5-year-old giddy again. Autumn has always been my favorite season. It's a reminder that nothing else matters but family and friendship. There are endless activities to do together that is in celebration of the holidays from Halloween to the New Year. Apple picking is first on the list.

Our friends The Sebastians took us on their trip to the Wilken's Fruit and Fir Farm in New York. They picked some apples, munched on them, and found the prettiest pumpkin to take home.

Is apple picking part of your family's autumn tradition too? If not, what is it? Share in the comments!

At this farm, we love walking through the orchards to pick our favorite apples and also pumpkins too. It's a fun place to run around and explore. There's also a hay wagon, which the kids would absolutely love (and parents too).
