DIY Snow Globes

At our recent company party, we had the opportunity to show everyone how to make snowglobes! Of course, we had to do it without water...but that just makes the entire project more reusable.

Here's what you need: 1. Mason jar 2. Mini trees (ones that are generally used for nativity/holiday scenes) 3. Glue gun 4. Fake snow (we used crystal shredded glitter) 5. Tiny beads (optional) 6. Glitter (optional)

All these were found at Michael's, and didn't cost us much!

Directions: 1. First, take the lid of your mason jar out, and glue a tree in the middle. Be careful not to glue anything around the rims of the lid because it won't be able to seal into the jar once you're finished. 2. You can decorate your tree with beads. We used the little beads as tiny ornaments for the tree, and you can also include other things around your tree. We had styrofoam balls to add that extra umph! Just be sure to glue everything so nothing moves when you're done assembling. 3. Dump maybe 3-4 tablespoons of glitter snow into your jar, not the lid. You can always add more, or reduce the amount after. If you want to make it even more colorful, some of our friends added glitter to the jar as well (or glued some to the tree!). 4. Then put the lid back on the jar, and turn it upside down! Then viola! You have your own snowglobe that's perfect for center pieces or your mantles!

It's a pretty easy DIY, and it's always fun to do with friends. We had such a great time making them with our friends at our company party. In fact, some people really impressed us with their creations and surely put the term festive to use!

The Home of Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff is an incredible human who has lived a very interesting life. Having recently moved to Los Angeles has allowed for this French-Korean-Russian actress more opportunities in the industry, including a role in Spike Lee's recent "Old Boy" film.

Today, we are honored to share you our day with Pom in her Los Angeles home. We loved every minute of it.

For your wardrobe I see lots of patterns, like polka dots and floral designs. How would you describe your style?

I'm versatile. It depends on my mood! Sometimes I will wear an Equipment top with colorful pattern because it's more playful, sometimes I will wear an ACNE jacket with badass leather biker boots by Fiorentini Baker and Rag&Bone jeans. I just learned how to tie a bow tie at Theory store, where I bought 2 shirts and 2 bow ties! Also I love to mix Zara, Topshop and H&M with more expensive brands.

The multi-tone hair is so cute! What inspired the hair color?

Thanks! I did it for a movie. "Hacker's Game" by Cyril Morin. I had to play a computer hacker kind of punk. So I decided to dye it purple. I thought it would bring a grunge and futuristic vibe. I kept it since! I go to Goodform Salon on Fairfax cross Melrose. My hairdresser is Jay Diola and he's amazing.

Awesome bike! How long have you been riding motorcycles? How did you find a love for them?

I always had a scooter (sky blue Vespa) in Paris. When I moved to LA I didn't have any driver's license so I bought a moped (Tomos). It's so rare in LA that people were looking at me like a weirdo and constantly ask me questions about the motor, how fast it goes etc. I have a driver's license now and a motorcycle license! I will buy a vintage customized badass motorcycle next time I get a role. Looking forward to do road trips with it.

Speaking of loves – how’d you fall in love with acting? How did your career get started?

I took acting lessons when I was 19 and I loved it. I felt good on stage, I felt warm. The connection with the audience is magical. You can move people, make them laugh. Never be afraid to be ridiculous. Take risks! After a few months, I won a theater competition. Then I got my first role and my first agent. That's how I got started.

The egg chair swing is really neat! I love it! Where did you find that?

Maison Bertet on Beverly Boulevard. All my patio furniture comes from this store. I had a crush on this egg chair. I feel like in a nest when I'm in it.

Where do you like to shop for your home? Do most of your pieces come from a specific place or is your décor more eclectic?

I got my green armchairs, coffee table and mirror from New Orleans when I was shooting "Oldboy." I fell in love with La Belle Nouvelle Orleans, an antique store on Magazine Street. I had really nice conversations with the owner. He comes from Argentina and he was telling me stories about the furniture while I was playing with his dog in the store. I shipped furniture from New Orleans to Los Angeles even before having visited the apartment in LA that I was supposed to live in! Every furniture in this store has a soul. I mixed it with stuff from Ikea and CB2.

I saw that you had a ‘Wes Anderson’ book? Is he your favorite director?

I love this director. His movies are so charming, original, funny and poetic. The cover of the book was so pretty that I bought it immediately.

Tell us more about your acting resume (The latest addition being Spike Lee’s "Oldboy"). What kind of roles have you played? What is your favorite role to date?

I have played many different roles. I have been a nomad in Oriental Siberia riding reindeers and horses, I have been a computer hacker kind of punk, a bodyguard/lover in "Oldboy" by Spike Lee. Each experience has been important and leaded to the other one. Working in the US and with Spike Lee in particular changed a lot for me because it was my dream of course, and I got an O1 Visa thanks to the movie. It gave me the opportunity to move to the US. The better is yet to come!
